Dear Members and Friends,
Nature has unleashed its fury again and this time it struck the country of Myanmar. The people had to endure the impact of heavy rains and strong cyclone winds reaching up to 190 kilometers per hour causing death and destruction to properties unprecedented in the country’s history. In the reports coming from reliable sources, the initial death count is more than 20,000 with an additional 40,000 unaccounted for.
Others might believe otherwise, but the people of Myanmar are gentle and persevering, worthy of love and respect, love and respect we give to our elders, neighbors and friends; love and respect you and me have to give to our fellowmen.
In this time of their need, governments all over the world, looking beyond politics, are reaching out to help by sending emergency aid to save lives such as food, medicine, financial support, and necessary humanitarian services thru international relief organizations, Rotary, and other NGOs.
Let us offer prayers for them to get over their grief and desolation. And let us do more than that. Please send your donations to World Vision Canada by calling 1 866 619 2227 or go on line at WorldVision.ca. Any amount however small will help.
Thank you
